Science Expo

The Mad Scientist show.

Freeport McMoran mine simulator. Lexi and Richard far left.

Science Fair

Science Expo was here for their yearly event. This is something that's really great for kids to experience and gives quite a bit of hands on experiments for the kids to do. My husband runs the mine simulator and this is a really popular booth for kids to visit there. It's almost like a big video game. Lexi's favorite was the top picture Rachel a Madagascar roach from the U of A.

The Dreaded Visit

Well yes it was that time of the year. The dreaded visit to my woman doctor, and of course my daughter was off with me now that I'm a homeschooling mom. I have to say I'm pretty open and honest with Lexi when it comes to growing up, so as we were walking in she asked, what does this doctor do mom? UGH!! Okay that's one question I really didn't want to answer because our conversation usually has to go into detail. I decided on a limited amount of info to tell her. She use to deliver babies and she delivered you. (she did deliver her) A wow expression came over her face, she has seen pictures with this doctor from when she was a couple days old, so she was pretty excited to meet her. When I thought about it, it occurred to me that not many of us ever meet the person who delivered us. Pretty cool thing to happen, and of course I had to get a picture 11 1/2 years later. Thank you Dr. Addis for the safe and happy delivery of my baby girl.

Long time friends Jamie, Me, Dr. Leman, & Julie

I have to say this was pretty great to meet and listen to Dr. Leman this morning. I was first given a book by one of my son's therapist when he was around 2. I wonder if that was a hint. The book she gave me was How to Make Your Child Mind without Loosing yours. I never read it til a few years ago when I was about to go out of my mind with my kids. Everything he says makes so much since. I highly recommend if you have the chance to read anything by him to do it, at the lecture I bought 7 things he'll never tell you. I didn't buy it because of a bad relationship with my husband, but I do think there are always ways to improve your life in every area.

Hallowen 2009

Well I don't know if you all can tell but these two are vampires. My daughter dressed as Jane and my son as Edward from the Twilight series. This has been a great Halloween season spent with family and friends and making some crafts. I'm new to this blogging so please bare with me.
